Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a farmer from Rathdowney Co. Laois Ireland, where I went to primary school. I am the eldest of six children (I have five lovely sisters!) born to Michael (R.I.P) and Mary Anne (Nee.Dowling) Creagh. At the age of twelve I had the opportunity to go to boarding school to the Cistercian College Roscrea Co. Tipperary. (1971-76).My favourite subjects were English, Biology and Spanish.

One of my life long interests has been, writing. Since 1984 I have co-written Rathdowney pantomime with my friend, Dr. Nial O’Doherty our local GP.

In December 2003 I published my first book of 35 self-penned poems called, The Rhymes Of A Rustic Boy. In May 2007 I launched my second book, The Return Of The Rustic Boy, a collection of 40 self penned poems similar to the first book but perhaps with a wider appeal. Both books are selling well, and I now get invited to all sorts of functions and venues to read my poetry, including schools and libraries, out of which I get a great kick. I am always interested in finding new forums and outlets for my work. If you have any further queries, you will find contact details elsewhere on this site. One happy reader who bought copies of both publications informed me afterwards: “Mick your books are very good, I keep them in the toilet”!

Well dear reader, I hope you get as much enjoyment out of them as he did, and as much pleasure from reading them as I got from writing them.

                                                                                                 Thank you
