Concert and Reading - Laois Nationalist June 30th 2005
In 2003 having co-written Rathdowney Pantomime for 20 years, Michael turned his hand to writing poetry. In December of that year he published his first book of 35 self-penned poems, The Rhymes of a Rustic Boy , to critical and popular success.
His simple and relaxed delivery is very disarming. His easily accessible poetry touches on his life growing up in a small town, the people and places that he has known. His own quirky slant on subjects such as car-boot bargains and tooth decay should also add a comic flavour to the evening.
Michael will be joined on stage by his sisters, cousin, and friends who will compliment his poetry with some popular songs and close harmony singing.
